Last updated: 10 June 2026. This Cookie Policy (the "Policy") explains how Sercan Aslan Türkiye (the "Clinic"), acting as data controller, uses cookies and similar technologies on the website sercanaslanturkey.com (the "Site"), in accordance with Turkish Law No. 6698 on the Protection of Personal Data ("KVKK") and the EU General Data Protection Regulation ("GDPR"). For general information about how we process personal data, please also see our Privacy Policy and the KVKK Information Notice.
1. Purpose and Scope
This Policy describes which cookies and similar technologies are used on the Site, for which purposes and on which legal bases they operate, how your choices are collected, and how you can change those choices at any time.
The Policy applies to all language versions of the Site. No non-essential cookie is set on your device until you have given your explicit consent.
2. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by your browser when you visit a website. They perform different functions, such as keeping your session active, ensuring security, remembering your preferences and measuring how the Site is used.
In this Policy, the term "cookies" also covers similar identifying technologies, including pixel tags (such as the Meta Pixel), local storage entries and comparable identifiers.
By duration, cookies are either session cookies (deleted when you close your browser) or persistent cookies (kept on your device for a set period). By origin, they are either first-party cookies (set by the Site) or third-party cookies (set by third parties such as Google or Meta).
3. Why and on What Legal Basis We Use Cookies
The Clinic uses cookies only for the following purposes:
- To keep the Site secure, available and functioning correctly (session management, security, form protection).
- To record and remember your cookie choices.
- With your consent, to understand how the Site is used in statistical terms and improve its content and user experience (analytics).
- With your consent, to measure the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns and attribute their source (marketing).
3.1 Legal Bases
Strictly necessary cookies are used without consent, on the basis of Article 5(2)(c) of the KVKK (processing directly related to the establishment or performance of a contract) and Article 5(2)(f) (the controller's legitimate interest), because the Site cannot deliver the services you request without them.
Analytics and marketing cookies are used exclusively on the basis of your explicit consent under Article 5(1) of the KVKK. For visitors within the scope of the GDPR, the legal basis is consent under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR, and, for strictly necessary cookies, legitimate interest under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, and, in line with the ePrivacy rules, non-essential cookies are only activated with consent.
4. Cookie Categories We Use
Only the following three cookie categories are used on the Site. The current, detailed list of cookies in use (name, provider, duration) is available at any time in the "Customize" view of the cookie banner.
- Strictly Necessary Cookies (always on): These are essential for the Site to work and cannot be switched off. They include session and security cookies, the cookie that stores your consent choices, the cookie that maintains web-chat session continuity, and the login cookies for the administration area used only by authorised Clinic staff. In addition, the Cloudflare Turnstile verification service, which protects our public forms against automated abuse, processes limited technical data as a processor. No consent is required for this category.
- Analytics Cookies (default: off, only with your consent): Google Analytics 4 ("GA4"), loaded via Google Tag Manager, helps us understand at a statistical level which pages and steps of the Site are used and how often. These cookies are loaded only if you accept the "Analytics" category in the cookie banner.
- Marketing Cookies (default: off, only with your consent): The Meta Pixel is used to measure the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns and to enable the display of relevant information on Meta platforms. If you accept this category, campaign attribution parameters (UTM parameters and click identifiers) are also processed. These cookies are loaded only if you accept the "Marketing" category.
5. How Analytics and Advertising Identifiers Work (GA4 and Meta Pixel)
If you consent to the relevant category, GA4 and the Meta Pixel load small code snippets that run in your browser. These technologies collect data such as the pages you visit, your approximate location (country derived from your IP address), browser type and device information, and place an advertising or analytics identifier on your device.
Browsing behaviour on a healthcare website can allow inferences about the treatments you are interested in. Mindful of this sensitivity, we keep analytics and marketing technologies switched off by default and activate them only with your informed, explicit consent.
Before you make a choice, and for as long as you do not consent, these tags are not loaded; under Google Consent Mode, all signals default to "denied".
Detailed information on how the third-party providers process data is available at: the Google Privacy Policy (policies.google.com/privacy), Google's explanation of data use on partner sites (policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites), the Google Analytics opt-out add-on (tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout), the Meta Privacy Policy (facebook.com/privacy/policy) and the Meta Cookie Policy (facebook.com/policies/cookies).
6. Third Parties and International Data Transfers
Within the strictly necessary category, Cloudflare (Turnstile form protection) processes limited technical data as a processor, and the Site is hosted in a data centre located in the European Union.
If you consent to the "Analytics" category, data is transferred to Google (GA4 / Google Tag Manager); if you consent to the "Marketing" category, data is transferred to Meta Platforms. These providers' servers may be located abroad; your acceptance of the relevant categories therefore also constitutes your explicit consent to the cross-border transfer of your personal data within the meaning of Article 9 of the KVKK. No such transfer takes place unless you consent.
Data collected through cookies is not shared with any other third party and is never sold.
7. Our Consent Model: Off by Default, Granular Choices
On your first visit to the Site, a cookie banner (consent management platform) is displayed. All non-essential categories are off by default; we use no pre-ticked boxes, no hidden reject option and no "cookie wall".
The banner offers three equally accessible options: accept all, reject all non-essential cookies, or customise your choices per category. Rejecting is as easy as accepting and never prevents you from using the Site's core functions.
Every consent you give or refuse is recorded, including which categories were accepted, when, and through which interface, as proof of consent in line with our legal accountability obligations.
8. Changing Your Preferences and Withdrawing Consent
You can change your cookie preferences or withdraw your consent at any time. Simply use the "Cookie settings" link in the footer of every page of the Site; it reopens the cookie preference panel.
Withdrawal takes effect from the moment you withdraw: the relevant tags are stopped and cookies in that category are no longer activated. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal. Withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it.
9. Managing Cookies in Your Browser
You can also manage cookies through your browser settings. All commonly used browsers (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge and others) allow you to view and delete cookies, block cookies from specific sites, or refuse all cookies. These options are usually found under the "Privacy and Security" section of your browser's settings.
If strictly necessary cookies are blocked at browser level, some parts of the Site (for example forms, the web chat, or the memory of your cookie choices) may not work correctly.
If you delete your browser cookies, the record of your cookie choice is deleted as well, and the cookie banner will be shown again on your next visit.
10. How Long Your Choices and Consent Records Are Kept
Your cookie choice is stored on your device through a strictly necessary cookie for a maximum of 12 months. After that period, or if this Policy changes materially, you will be asked again. You will also be asked again if you delete cookies from your browser.
Consent records (which categories were accepted, when, and through which interface) are retained for the legally required proof period under the KVKK and the GDPR. Personal data processed through cookies is kept no longer than required for the stated purposes or applicable legal retention obligations.
11. Your Rights
Under Article 11 of the KVKK and Chapter III of the GDPR, you have the following rights as a data subject:
- To learn whether your personal data is processed and, if so, to request information about that processing (right of access).
- To request the rectification of incomplete or inaccurate personal data.
- To request the erasure or destruction of your personal data.
- To request the restriction of processing (under the GDPR).
- To object to the processing of your personal data.
- Where applicable, to receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format or have it transmitted to another controller (data portability).
- To withdraw any consent you have given, at any time.
11.1 How to Exercise Your Rights
You can submit requests concerning your rights to hello@sercanaslanturkey.com. Applications under the KVKK are answered free of charge within 30 days at the latest.
If your application is refused, if you consider the response insufficient, or if you receive no response in time, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Turkish Personal Data Protection Board (Kişisel Verileri Koruma Kurulu). Data subjects within the scope of the GDPR may also lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority of their own country.
12. Changes and Contact
The Clinic may update this Policy to reflect changes in the cookies we use or in applicable law. The current version is always published on this page; in the event of material changes, your preferences will be requested again through the cookie banner.
For any questions about this Policy or our use of cookies, please contact us at hello@sercanaslanturkey.com.
